Holiday Gym and Spa, the premier health and wellness center welcomes the new year with new and exciting group exercise classes.

HGS recently held refresher courses and additional trainings for its instructors in preparation for the new group exercise classes which will start on January 18.

The Holiday Flow, Flex and Form classes will either focus on yoga, Pilates, ballet-inspired workout and taichi.

Certain schedules may be a mix of all types of mind-body classes which primarily aims to help develop better breathing habits, overall balance and dexterity or coordination, as well as streamlining or toning the body, especially the core and to help improve flexibility.

The Holiday Step n’ Bits will help invigorate participants. On different weeks,the step class may be in fusion forms, which is hi-lo inspired and done to the beat of latin with several kick box moves. In another week, the classes will be in a freestyle format where two steps will be used at a time by a participant. Classes will be done in circle format.

Holiday is resurrecting the very-much missed power board

With the Holiday bounce classes. Who knows, maybe in the coming months you’ll be using a mini trampoline! The bounce class will be combined with other class formats like Bounce, Flow, & Flex (BFF) or Bounce, Build & Balance (bbb).

The Holiday Groove will get you inspired and moving. HGS will continue to offer your all-time favorite classes like Latin-inspired Cardio, Dance Mix (retro, hiphop, strip, ballroom, etc.)and Hi-Lo Jam using popular dance tunes, fusing traditional Hi-Lo moves with the latest dance craze.

The Holiday drills is a new group of classes designed to keep you on your toes. Starting off with the popular kickbox, then the nonstop sure-sweat class all toys but no play. This time around, gym instructors will make sure you get the job done. Your favorite group exercise instructors may also take turns with the gym instructors in teaching the class and on another week, you’ll get the athletic conditioning workout that is sure to bring out the athlete in you whether you like it or not.

The Holiday Cycle is the well-loved class of Bike, Build & Balance (BBB) and Spin, Strength & Stretch. Holiday Cycle will now be joined by a fun ride where you’ll forget you’re exercising but will just remember the pure fun and joy of cycling with your group mates while singing your hearts (or should we say lungs) out!

With the Holiday Cardio Belly, your belly classes gets transformed. Aside from the regular cardio belly, we’re bringing back the once popular Belly Hiphop and Belly Striptease Fusion classes. So get ready to grind, bump, bounce and tease.

Who’s got balls? With the Holiday Ball workout, everyone will have the chance to use the different kinds of balls at Holiday. So get ready for ball workout using either the stability ball, drums alive again or Hi-lo with stability ball, or ab work on the ball. The next week, you’ll get to challenge your workout with the use of the Bosu, and then on another week, you’ll have the “We’ve Got Balls” workout using the weighted ball or the mini Riding on the Pinoy Big Brother’s popularity, Holiday brings you Punch, Build & Bend (PBB), a fusion of punch bag class, strengthening exercises and stretching to keep you nimble. Then on alternate week, we’ll give you the familiar Punch & Kickbox (PKB) fusion class.

Holiday will now offer SWIM 101 with Aquafit. For those who want to learn the basics of swimming in a group setting. For those who already know how to swim but would like to learn more with others, HGS gives you the Master Swim Class. For swimmers and non-swimmers alike who just want to have fun while exercising, HGS will still be giving you the traditional Aqua Aero class.

HGS also adds to its roster of qualified instructor

Cherie Diel Calamba, the new group exercise instructor. Ms. Calamba is a yoga alliance registered teacher and also a YMCA certified instructor for Pilates, Martial Arts and Step.

Another invigorating class to welcome the year will be the Muay-Thai classes that will be held every Mondays and Wednesdays under Dr. Vincent Vicente and assisted by Ryan Cordero. Classes will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for beginners and 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for advance level.

HGS instructors will also be using the techniques from fitness guru Lawrence Biscontini in the new group exercise classes.

The year is sure going to be exciting fitness fun at its best with several classes to be taught by gym instructors to encourage more male participants to join the group exercise classes
